Shrimp Fra Diavolo

Ingredients

  • 1 LB MED-LARGE SHRIMP, PEELED AND DEVEINED

  • 4 ANCHOVY FILLETS, CHOPPED

  • 2 T. CRUSHED RED PEPPER

  • ½ C. DRY WHITE WINE OR DRY RED/CABERNET

  • 1 JAR OF CHEFMEL’S SWEET SICILIAN PASTA SAUCE

  • 16 OZ CRUSHED TOMATOES, SAN MARZANO PREFERRED

  • 8-12 OZ COOKED LINGUINE OR BUCATINI

  • 1 T. OLIVE OIL

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 T. Olive oil in a large skillet and add shrimp to sauté 1 min each side. 

  2. Set aside.

  3. Start boiling water in a pot for the pasta.

  4. In a Dutch oven or large pot/pan, add pasta sauce, crushed tomatoes, anchovies, white wine and crushed red pepper and simmer 15-20 minutes. 

  5. While the sauce is simmering, add pasta to boiling water and boil for 10 minutes. 

  6. Drain pasta. 

  7. Add shrimp and pasta to the simmering sauce and stir/fold in. 

  8. Serve.
